Uncovering the Impact: Hurricane Helene Documentary Exploring the Aftermath

Like many of you, I didn’t know the full extent of what was transpiring in North Carolina and Tennessee after the hurricane. The news coverage was brief, and the stories from the ground were few. But what I discovered was a community devastated by the storm, left waiting for help that, in many cases, never came. What truly moved me, though, was the resilience of the locals and the volunteers who stepped up in the absence of government support. Their strength, their selflessness, and their faith have been nothing short of remarkable.

Over four days I was able to follow the people of the Sentinel Group and have put together a mini series to show you what has transpired.

This series will be released in four parts, each shedding light on the powerful response to the hurricane that devastated the Elk River and Spruce Pine communities in North Carolina. Through intimate stories of survival, volunteerism, and the power of faith, we uncover how these communities have turned catastrophe into a testament of resilience.

Here’s what to expect:

You'll meet the passionate individuals behind everything—those who not only wanted to show the destruction but also highlight the strength of the people who faced it. This episode focuses on how The Sentinel Group, with limited resources, turned the chaos into a powerful narrative, showing a community determined to survive.

Episode 2: The Volunteers

Meet the heroes who arrived to help when government support fell short. This episode highlights the tireless work of volunteers who became the backbone of the recovery process, showing us the beauty of humanity in times of need.
